After a long and much-needed break from WoW, I started playing again and finally got my priest to level 70. And to my delight, engineers get their own AWESOME flying mount! I could not go to sleep last night until I had collected all of the materials to build it.

For anyone looking for an amazing fantasy series to get into, I highly suggest The Symphony of Ages series by Elizabeth Haydon. I can't put these books down, they're so good :) It seems that any book illustrated by Luis Royo is always a great read (i.e. The Wayfarer Redemption series, The Troy Game series)

I was really craving a good phở yesterday, and I forced my sister to come with me to a new Vietnamese restaurant called Hu-Dat Noodle House in Corpus. Silly restaurant owners and their play on words... I think I'll open up a place and call it Let's Phở! or Phở Sho!.. Anyway, their food was yummy for the tummy, and the price was right. I'd definitely go again.

The next one is the Perseids on August 12. The best time to see it is around 11pm, supposedly, and there won't be moonlight to interfere.

I'm obviously very bored when I can't sleep.

should i have to pay a share of the utility bills if i am not living at the apartment anymore, after moving out in may?

apparently that's what kristen thinks, silly girl. "it's only fair" she says... only fair that i pay a 1/4th of all the bills until our leases are up in august. even though i'm not living there anymore... well if we want to be fair, then all the people who have stayed at the apartment have to pay a portion of the utility bills (like Mikey) for the summer. i get the feeling they won't.

i can't believe she told me this with a serious tone, after the whole thing with my room.

uggggh why did i put myself into this stupid mess.

I'm very disappointed in my roommates. I never would have thought that Val would be yelling at me of all people over the phone.

Yeah, I moved out of my room in May to come home to Corpus, but I was still paying the rent on my room in the apt up in Austin. After Mikey told me at the last minute that he could not afford to take my room as a subletter and that he was just going to live with his boyfriend during the summer, I got screwed and could not find a replacement before I left. So I decided to just keep paying the rent out of my student loans and just visit Austin when I could during the summer and I'd conveniently have a place to stay.

I went up this weekend, and my room was being used as storage space. Lawn chairs, vacuum cleaner, bags, etc. The bed was made and Mikey's clothes were in the closet. I got angry and took everything out. I am NOT paying that much money as a freebie for others, friends or not.

When I came back to Corpus, Val returns my call to tell me that the door was wide open after I had moved out (I could've have sworn I closed and locked my door, but it has a cheapy lock anyway so it was always unlocking on its own), so they assumed I was letting them use the room. Free of charge?? Yeah, right! I asked her why they didn't just close the door. She said they didn't think I'd care.

I tell her that I'm not paying for that room for others to use. She says that I wasn't there, it's an empty room, and since I wasn't coming back they thought I would be ok with them using it. I told her I'm not paying for that room for others to use. She tells me if it was HER room she would let people use it. I told her it's MY room, I'm dishing out the rent, and no one called me to ask to use it. She said that they didn't think they'd HAVE to call because they figured I'd be ok with it. All of the stuff in there belonged to Julie and she was using the room to hold her stuff while she got ready to move to another apartment.

Storage space costs money, and I suppose she decided that it would be easier to just use my "free room".

Some people just need to grow up and learn to take responsibility when they've done something wrong. Was it so hard to get a hold of me and ask for permission to use MY rented space?

How is it a favor when I don't know about it?

I guess I was just too nice during the year, since I did put up with a lot of their crap. Parties that lasted until 3am on school nights, the noise of drunk people, them smoking pot in the living room, etc. I never bothered anyone, I was always in my room.

So Val started yelling and making it sound like something was my fault, saying she wasn't going to apologize for anything, and at some point I just hung up. I took pictures of everything and wrote down all that was said, so I have plenty of evidence if I decide to do anything about it. Someone owes me money for using my space.

I talked to someone in the apt office and had them bolt lock my door. I'll have them unlock it when I go up again next week with my mother and sister.

It makes me both angry and sad. GROW UP PLEASE, nothing is free!
